THE IDEA BEHIND THE HANDBOOK

Tradition becomes closer
when we understand it.

A companion for the curious, the connected, and those finding their way back.

Hindu Handbook brings prayers, ceremonies, and their meanings into a connected reading experience. It is being built for families and curious readers who want to understand what they hear and see, and then explore the sources behind it.

01

Begin with understanding

Explain the action, the words, and why they matter. Give a first-time reader a clear place to begin, with deeper layers available when they want them.

02

Keep the sources visible

Distinguish a verse’s textual origin from the evidence for its use in a ceremony. Readers should be able to follow both claims back to their sources.

03

Make room for differences

Name the textual tradition, region, or community when the evidence supports it. A practice from one tradition does not become a rule for everyone.

04

Separate words from interpretation

Keep the Sanskrit, transliteration, literal translation, readable translation, and explanatory commentary distinct.

05

Be honest about what is unfinished

Drafts, unresolved readings, missing audio, and pending reviews must be clearly identified. Independent review is a real editorial step, never a decorative badge.

06

Let knowledge improve

Record corrections and changes so readers can understand how an entry develops as better evidence and qualified review become available.

WHERE WE ARE TODAY

Careful work takes time.

You are viewing a private design prototype. The first Vivāha collection contains AI-assisted research drafts awaiting independent text, translation, and ritual-use review.

The current model follows a named source tradition. It is an educational reading guide, not a complete manual for conducting a wedding.
