10.191.1. O vigorous Agni, you bring together all [the lord’s possessions]. You are kindled in Iḷā’s place. Bring us treasures.

10.191.2. Come together; speak together; let your minds understand together, as the gods of old, agreeing together, attend their share [of the offering].

10.191.3. Let their deliberation be shared, their assembly shared, their mind shared together with their thought. I address you with a shared counsel; I offer for you with a shared oblation.

10.191.4. Let your intention be shared; let your hearts be shared; let your mind be shared, so that you may live well together.

General handbook reading guidance

General reading orientation: verse 1 addresses Agni. Verses 2–4 turn to gathering, speech, deliberation, mind and concord. Notice the repeated forms of sam, “together,” rather than reducing the hymn to an isolated slogan.

The whole four-verse selection is supplied in Sanskrit transliteration. These reading prompts are not a named English translation, and the hymn does not by itself establish how every community applies it.

Keep the original setting visible

General reading orientation: verse 1 addresses Agni. Verses 2–4 turn to gathering, speech, deliberation, mind and concord. Notice the repeated forms of sam, “together,” rather than reducing the hymn to an isolated slogan.

The whole four-verse selection is supplied in Sanskrit transliteration with a separately labeled provisional English translation. These reading prompts are not the translation, and the hymn does not by itself establish how every community applies it.

A reading path

Begin with the address to Agni, then notice the repeated words about togetherness in verses 2–4. Compare gathering, speaking, thought and shared intention without treating the selection as a complete account of the Vedas.

Use the supplied original and guidance for these questions. Sanskrit, recitation and interpretation review remain pending; further teacher-led study is optional.
